CDMA Training: DSSS, CDMA, cdmaOne (IS95), cdma2000 (1xRTT, EVDO, UMB, EVDV)
This curriculum is focused on cdma2000 and cdmaOne, its 2G predecessor. It also includes courses on Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) and the CDMA techniques that lie at the heart of all CDMA-based technologies, including not only the cdma2000 family of standards but also WCDMA or UMTS. Our cdma2000 curriculum covers all of the evolutionary stages of this technology, namely cdma2000 1xRTT, cdma2000 1xEVDO ( Release 0, Revision A, Revision B), cdma2000 1xEVDO Revision C (or Ultra Mobile Broadband, UMB for short), and cdma2000 1xEVDV. Also covered are related technologies such as MIMO and OFDM.
All-in-one CDMA course: If you are looking for an overview of IS95 and cdma2000 Release 0, 1XRTT, EVDO, and EVDV -- all in one place, you will find it in CDMA Technology and Its Evolution to cdma2000.
In-depth courses on cdmaOne and cdma2000 technology family: If you already know the basics of CDMA and wish to study a particular standard in depth, consider courses with the codes: 1XRTT, EVDO, and EVDV. The EVDO course also includes discussion of Ultra Mobile Broadband (UMB). Because each member of this family builds on the one that preceded it, the courses should be taken in the order listed.
Fundamental principles of CDMA: CDMA techniques are central to not only cdmaOne (IS95), the "original CDMA", but also both of the 3G technology families (cdma2000 and WCDMA or UMTS) and nearly all of the emerging new technologies. For anyone interested in any CDMA-based technology, the place to start is the two-day subset, without the cdma2000 material, of CDMA Technology and Its Evolution to cdma2000. If you're interested in WCDMA, we can teach this course with its cdma2000 content replaced with the discussion of UMTS evolution.
Complementary course: Those who work with 1xEVDO may also be interested in the course on HSDPA, its sister technology on the WCDMA side.
Larger wireless curriculum: The CDMA curriculum is part of our larger telecommunications offering that includes all major wireless and core network technologies as well as the general principles for the design, optimization, and deployment of wireless networks. Check out the left navigation panel for other curricula pertinent to your needs.
Courses on the business and applications of wireless: If your interest in wireless is from your vantage point as a decision-maker, wireless user, or device/applications developer, you should take a look at our Telecom for Special Audiences curriculum.
