Relatively new wireless engineers who wish to learn the systematic process for cell planning and site development. The standard presentation of this course assumes a bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related subject along with an appropriate background in communications.

Whatever the technology, the base stations and the associated costs constitute a good chunk of the operator’s capital and operating expenditure. Therefore, developing a good plan for selecting and deploying the cell sites is a matter of utmost importance.

This course will help you master the systematic process for efficiently planning and developing sites to cover a given region. You will learn how to quantify the cost/benefit issues that drive the development of sites, evaluate candidate sites, and rank them in preference order, thus achieving optimum coverage. While the processes taught in the course apply equally well to all technologies, our in-class examples and discussions will draw from the technologies of particular interest to the audience.
