- course id
- 2GTO4G
- duration
- 4-5 day(s)
- Aimed At
-
Those involved in management, business planning and strategy, service design, marketing, BSS/OSS, and others (such as enterprise users of wireless and telecommunications regulators) who need to understand how 2G is evolving to 3G and 4G/4G+, with particular focus on supported services and investments/benefits.
- Prerequisites
-
General knowledge of telecom along with some exposure to a 2G wireless technology such as GSM, CDMA, or iDEN™.
- Course in a Nutshell
-
In our industry, networks are evolving from a vertical/product orientation to horizontal/layer orientation. As operators upgrade their networks to newer technologies, a well planned migration is necessary for effectively capitalizing on the new investment while preserving the existing infrastructure investment.
This course will take a top-down, multi-faceted approach to helping the participants understand where our industry is today, the technological and market forces that led to that state, the subscriber’s role in the evolution of the technology, the technology landscape as it exists today, and the business case for implementing the emerging technologies. The style of instruction will be semi-technical, aimed at helping a managerial audience understand the investment, cost/benefit, and deployment implications of the technology evolution.
The duration of the course, varying from 4 to 5 days, depends on the desired technical depth of the topics included. Each offering of this course is updated to include coverage of the latest technologies in the marketplace or on the horizon.
