UMTS-FDD: Network Architecture, Operation, and Design
Course ID
P-UMTS1
Course Duration
2 days
Aimed At
Those with some CDMA background who wish to learn more about UMTS-FDD.
Prerequisites
You should have a couple of years of wireless engineering experience in any major technology as well as an understanding of the key CDMA/spread spectrum concepts.
Course in a Nutshell
In this short but intensive tutorial, you will study the architecture and operation of UMTS-FDD as it impacts the design and optimization of a UMTS-FDD network, equipment, or application. We will begin with a close look at the architecture of a UMTS network, with emphasis on the FDD mode. We will discuss the relationships between the logical channels, transport channels, and physical channels in a great deal of detail. All of this will allow you to leverage the technology’s strengths to develop better network or equipment/application designs, trouble shoot performance problems, and identify solution approaches. It will also help you interface with OEMs more effectively.
