Cavanagh, a senior member of the Eogogics Telecommunications Faculty, provides training on VoIP, Voice over Packet, ATM, Frame Relay, Emerging Technologies, LAN and TCP/IP Integration, Telecom and Datacom Fundamentals, network security, and a variety of other topics to over 1,500 telecommunications professionals each year including 911 and public safety audiences and conferences.

Mr. Cavanagh has been intimately involved with the engineering, sales support, marketing, design, installation, and training for ATM, Frame Relay, IP, optical networking, xDSL, packet telephony and Unified Communications since their early commercialization. He has also worked extensively in network security, disaster recovery planning and infrastructure security. Jim combines his broad and deep experience with creativity to develop and deliver exceptionally effective solutions for his consulting, teaching and writing assignments.

Jim is an internationally recognized expert on infrastructure and network security, anti-hacking, counter-cyber-terrorism and business and corporate security. The San Jose Chamber of Commerce held a breakfast in his honor on the one year anniversary of 9/11 to recognize and thank him for a series of four security white papers for business that he distributed free of charge to over 11,000 readers globally including the RCMP and the US FBI. He also toured five Canadian cities for the TELUS Expert Series which received good press coverage and attendance following the events of September 11. He continues his heavy involvement in consulting, writing and training in the security area. Mr. Cavanagh has also written Internet commerce and security strategy papers for the governments of Bermuda and South Africa.

Mr. Cavanagh has published five books on topics as diverse as multimedia networking, network security and frame relay as well as the ebook The Definitive Guide to the Successful Implementation of VoIP and IP Telephony. He is presently working on a book on Unified Communications. Mr. Cavanagh also authored several popular computer based training (CBT) courses covering Frame Relay, emerging broadband technologies, fiber optic communications basics and advanced fiber optic network design in addition to over three dozen articles for trade publications and journals.

Mr. Cavanagh is a frequent guest on panels at industry conferences, has been an instructor for the International Communications Association's (ICA) Summer Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1992 until 1997 and is the recipient of the ICA's Citation of Merit Award for "outstanding contributions to global telecommunications”.
